Before starting your vitiligo diet, you have to decide whether you’ll get out of your environment or do all what it takes to guard yourself from the pollutants. Moving out may sound difficult but if it could be a big factor in helping you effectively control your condition, why not give it a yes. But if it sounds impossible, then just do all what it takes to protect yourself from those pollutants.

As soon as you have managed the environment around you, it is high time for you to focus on your diet.

In managing your condition, there are some vitamins and foods that can be at help.

Make sure to eat plenty of vegetables. The best sources of vitamins and minerals are vegetables. If you have vitiligo, eat broccoli, carrots and many green leafy vegetables. These foods can help your skin get nutrients that it needs in order to produce melanin.

Antioxidant rich fruits can be at help too. Eating fruits such as blue berries can repair skin damage and can also protect skin from damage. But you also have to be careful in eating fruits since there are fruits that can hinder in producing melanin such as lemon, orange, mandarin, grapefruits and other fruits that are high in Vitamin C.

Just see to it that you’ll be eating whole grains and not processed grains. Good examples of whole grains are whole grain breads, brown rice, oats and whole wheat pasta.

Eat nuts since these have good fats and protective photochemicals that can be helpful to your skin. These can also protect your skin and help in repairing it since nuts are rich in Vitamin E. Among all kinds of nuts, the best options are almonds, pistachios and walnuts.

If you have vitiligo, you must avoid meats aside from beef liver. Beef liver has great amount of vitamin B12, folate, copper, riboflavin, vitamin A, selenium and ryptophan which can be at help in managing vitiligo.

Make sure to maintain a natural diet as much as possible.
